AOL Music News (US)- Not since Jon Anderson joined forces with Sherman Hemsley -- yep, ol' George Jefferson himself -- on the prog-funk opera 'Festival of Dreams' have we heard of a collaboration as odd as that of Roger Waters and Shakira. Much to our chagrin, there's no audio component to this particular union, which will bring the pair together in an attempt to create an artistic paradise -- as well as a long-lasting cash cow -- in the Bahamas.
The 'Hips Don't Lie' star and Baby Boomers' favorite rock conceptualist are among the primary investors in a $16 million effort to buy the largely undeveloped island of Bonds Cay and stock it with luxury condominiums and art galleries -- a far cry from the bonefish that are the primary residents at the moment. One of the project's developers tells Forbes magazine that he's banking on potential buyers being intrigued by word that the celebrity owners will actually be living on the premises part-time.
Perhaps some folks will bite, but the allure of seeing Roger Waters parading around in a Speedo somehow escapes us.
