Shakira Settles For Third In Search
Queen of SearchAll of the desktop computers and laptops around the world have spoken....
Shakira was the third most searched for term in 2006 using Yahoo’s search engine.
The Colombian singer failed to beat out Britney Spears, who has topped the list five times in the last six years, to the number one spot. Last year she was not the top search, with interest declining.
More interestingly, Britney has not released a single note of music this year, but bolstered her campaign by "birthing a celebresprog and getting divorced from her unbelievably-less-talented-than-her comedy hip-hop ratfink husband Kevin Federline," as put by one analyst. He continued with...
Security Problems May Suspend Concerts
The concert planned for Lima, Peru's capital, may be suspended because organizers have not yet met the security requirements stipulated by the authorities for the show.
Lima's Mayor Prefect, Rubén Rodríguez, said that since these requirements have not been met, her concert may be suspended.
”If they don't hand in the required documentation, we're going to suspend the concert,” Rodríguez stated.
Among the documents that Rodríguez is referring to are the contingency evacuation plan, the insurance policy for the audience, and a favorable report from the emergency team. It is said that life insurance, health insurance, and other financial policies were necessary in instances where large crowds, such as this, are expected to gather.

Hugo Chavez Opens Miltary Base for Shakira Concert
Hugo Chavez has opened his arms (and military base) to Shakira, so that she could perform a concert in Venezuela. It is the same military air base that was at the center of a failed 2002 coup.
Shakira had been unable to find a venue in the country, Chavez said in a speech, so he decided to open La Carlota base in Caracas on Saturday after receiving a letter from her promoters.
La Carlota had been reserved for military use since the attempted coup, in which Chavez was temporarily forced out of power.
The president joked that he wanted to attend the concert, the BBC said.
Chavez said the other day he'd put on a wig and not even his bodyguards had been able to recognize him. "Maybe I'll put on a wig and go see Shakira," he said. No word on if he did.
